Sydney’s Top 10- Part II
Lauren Wright
Waking up in a luxurious four poster bed- or at least pretending you are- yesterday’s Sydney experiences leave you craving more.
Leaping out of bed, endless possibilities again run through your mind.
To give you a head start, here are five more things you must experience whilst staying in Sydney.
Bridge Climb: For the more adventurous, the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb is the perfect way to get the adrenalin rush you crave and see some of Sydney’s most breathtaking views.

Sydney Harbour Bridge
You can choose from a range of three guided climbs, which take you to the summit of the bridge, 134metres above Sydney Harbour.
This is perfect for those of you who hate morning and have trouble waking up. Choose the dawn climb and the chill in the air and the breeze at the top of the bridge is sure to have you wide awake and ready for the rest of the day.
The Express Climb is the fastest way to the top for those who like to live life at a breakneck pace, while the Discovery and Bridge climb allow you to take your time and enjoy the once in a lifetime experience of conquering Australia’s most iconic architectural achievement.
Wicked the Musical: Theatre enthusiasts will be tripping over each other in the race to see this globally popular performance. Hailed for its success in North America, London, Germany and Japan, Wicked is the winner of twenty major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards.

The untold story of Oz tells the tale of how the witches of Oz meet, forming an unlikely friendship and how they become the witches of the North and West. A modern and enjoyable spin on the classic tale of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, audiences of all ages will enjoy going back to the beginning to relive the journey.
Wicked is now playing at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney. To book tickets visit www.ticketmaster.com.au or phone 1300 723 038. For more information on this enchanting delightful production and its cast visit www.wickedthemusical.com.au
Hot Damn: One of Sydney’s hottest night clubs, Hot Damn is the ultimate party destination on a Thursday night to kick your weekend off early. Located at Q Bar in Darlinghurst, it has quickly become one of the most popular clubs in all of Sydney.
Offering punk, indi rock, electro and alternative music; Hot Dam offers a variety of music genres along with $3 beer and $4 spirits. So for those not too sure about the style of music, the cheap alcohol should help to persuade you to check it out. Cheap entry between $8-$10 is just another reason to head down to Darlinghurst and check out the most happening club in Sydney.
Promoter Matthew Harley thinks that Hot Damn is one of the best places you could go in Sydney.

Soundwave: Last but most certainly not least, get ready to be rocked Sydney when Soundwave hits the city next February. This annual rock festival will be held at Eastern Creek Raceway on Sunday 21st February.
With star headlining acts Faith No More and My Chemical Romance, this year’s show is sure to draw a large crowd. Other performances include big names such as Paramore, Escape the Fate and the newly re-formed Sunny Day Real Estate.
The return of bands such as Alexisonfire and Get Up Kids has also caused a great deal of excitement amongst rock fans.
Watch out for the mosh pits though, with hardcore rockers always a risk. If the weather’s hot, the sweat flying off the hardcore moshers could provide you with a nice shower.
To book tickets visit Ticketek or phone 132 849. Further information about the festival and performing artists can be found on the Soundwave website. So head to www.soundwavefestival.com
Cricket: Sports fanatics will be bowled over with the quality of cricket arriving in Australia in the months to come. Starting in November and continuing through till February, the West Indies and Pakistan will attempt to defeat one of the world’s toughest teams.

With the recent internal troubles in the West Indies, it will be interesting to see if their big name players will rejoin the touring squad and provide Australians with a fiery contest.
With Australia’s recent uneven performances, the stage has been set for a summer of gripping contests and quality cricket. Selectors attempts to bring through some younger players has led to some poor performances.
And for the girls some of the young guys aren’t bad looking either.
Australia will play Pakistan in a test match at the SCG from the 3-7 January, with a one-day match also against them on January 24th. They will verse their old enemy the West Indies in a one-day match at the SCG on12th February and in a Twenty20 match on 23rd February.
Flying back over Sydney Harbour on your way home, disappointment grows as you leave Australia’s most exciting city.
But that small voice in the back of your mind whispers ‘at least you got to experience Sydney’s top 10 attractions.’
The holiday may be over, but hey, you’ve still got the holiday snaps to post on facebook which will make all your friends jealous.
